Since the debut of Beach Volleyball as an Olympic Sport in 1996, Hutcheson Sand & Mixes has been involved in providing world class quality sand and court construction. Whether from the grassroots level or as the “Official F.I.V.B. Sand Consulting Firm,” Hutcheson has developed and introduced the Hutcheson “V” sand to the world market. Since 1999, Hutcheson has been the “Official Sand Consultant Company” for the Federation de International Volleyball (F.I.V.B) of Lausanne, Switzerland.
Hutcheson has had the privilege of both supplying and consulting on some very high profile venues, such as the past five Olympic Games and most recently the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The first ever European Games in Baku and the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games were built with Hutcheson V Sand, the most trusted name on the Planet for both players and promoters.
Hutcheson V Sand has been manufactured using the latest technology in sand production, allowing us to provide a superior material for the Volleyball Industry. The sand is washed and sized allowing us to control the physical properties, particle sizes and shapes. Hutcheson provides sand that resists compact, thus performing under the best and most adverse weather conditions.
Our Volleyball Court construction installs have been performed around the globe with rave reviews and exceptional results. The sand supply and complete court construction over the past 20 years has also seen turn-key court construction completed at universities, colleges, schools, camps and municipalities. Each Hutcheson Volleyball court installation includes:
Excavation of 13’ x 24’ meters or based on Customer demands
Drainage systems – tile and Geo-technical materials
Berm formation around the court perimeter, acts as a natural boundary and keeps the sand in the court
Sod to cover the berm
140-200 tons approx. of Hutcheson ‘V’ Sand conforming to FIVB Specifications
Choice of permanent net system, SKED 40 posts set in concrete, beach volleyball net and mounting hardware or our new Hutch-Tech portable net systems also available.

Maintenance Program
Hutcheson Sand & Mixes is pleased to introduce our Sand Maintenance Program. We provide Maintenance Packages for Playgrounds, Beach Volleyball Courts and Golf Bunkers, including the grooming and cleaning of the sand area requested and installing or replenishing new Hutcheson sand if required (based on a per ton or per sqare metre quotation.)
Averaging 5-6 playgrounds per day or 40,000 ft2 of open area.
Grooming depth of 2-5 inches.
Removal of contaminants such as glass, stones, leaves, sticks and many other foreign and dangerous objects.
Daily charges, includes float moves and operator with a discount for multiple days.
Units also available for sale.
We can tailor a package to suit your needs and budget, for the upcoming season.
