Earlier this month Sports Turf Canada’s 30th Anniversary Forum was held at BMO Field, which is now home to both the Toronto FC and the Toronto Argonauts. It was a great opportunity for the members to get together, listen to guest speakers, enjoy lunch during the AGM, visit the exhibits and take a behind the scenes tour of the facility led by the grounds crew. The impressive sub-air system was the highlight for most.
During his talk with the AGM, head grounds keeper Robert Heggie remarked that the field was built and maintained like a USGA golf green. The BMO grounds crew select Hutcheson Green USGA Topdressing Sand to aid in the quality, performance and aesthetic appeal of the turf.
